"My favorite styles of music include jazz, funk, blues, and improvisational music.
I can sum up my influences in the music of the Grateful Dead.
At a young age, they sparked my interest in improvisational music.
This led me to discover jazz greats such as John Coltrane and Charles
Mingus and eventually the double bass. A number of other jazz and funk
groups have heavily influenced me as well, but I feel that the people
I've been fortunate to meet and

play with in the past
few years have influenced me the most.
My six all-time favorite albums are:
Tower of Power - What is Hip?;
Grateful Dead - Europe '72;
Bill Evans - Portrait in Jazz;
Conrad Herwing - New York Breed;
Allman Brothers Band - Eat A Peach;
John Coltrane - My Favorite Things."

"I've been playing music for 6 years. A good friend of mine started playing bass at the same time I was learning guitar,
and we taught each other our instruments as time progressed. I also
play upright bass, studying both classical and jazz.
I play an average of 12 hours a week, at least an hour each weekday, more on the weekends.
My friends and family have simply influenced me to keep going and doing what I do."

"Music is about having a good time and enjoying how music can make you feel.
Playing live is the whole basis for this feeling.
I love playing live music and helping to make people feel the same way I do about it.
Feeling the audience enjoy what you are creating is the greatest satisfaction of them all for me,
and is also my greatest inspiration."
